The First Ever Jewelry Wash
The founder, Brea Fullerton, invented the first ever Jewelry Wash™ from the need for accessible yet luxurious jewelry care. After refining the jewelry wash product, Brea started Shinery as a modern and luxurious jewelry care with clean, plant-based, non-toxic ingredients. They have been featured in various news sources including Forbes and Oprah Daily.
The Akantro team setup Shinery on the Shopify platform, and we provided full-scale services in development. Working with the Akantro team, I took on the initial challenge of refining their theme for their specific needs. Some significant tasks include the Footer, the jewelry comparison, logo slider, and Yotpo integrations.
see liveDual image comparison sliders Out the box, Impulse supports image comparison, but the image comparison is one per section. One of the requests was to increase the image comparison components into two per section. This required me to rewrite the Liquid, HTML, JavaScript logic to support more than two image comparison elements.
Adding secondary images for desktop and mobile With the use of metafields, I was able to use knowledge in Liquid, HTML, and CSS to create custom secondary images. With this functionality, merchants control what image is shown for a product image in any listing. This proves useful considering that some images depending on lighting and even presentation may produce more conversions.
Toggling of visibility of buy buttons One of the most important goals of conversion rate optimization is getting users to checkout as soon as possible. Sometimes, this focus requires a prioritization on the things that work and the things that don’t. One of the goals was to hide the buttons that don’t lead to clicks as much. Since Shinery already has product listings on Amazon, we installed the Buy with Prime app to get customers to checkout faster and benefits of prime membership. The app integration itself has been shown to increase shopper conversion by an average of 25%.
Disclaimer: Once again, Akantro is responsible for several significant integrations and enhancements on Shinery’s implementation of the shopify store front. The ladder enhancements are only a few examples of the work that I did with the Akantro agency. The overall outcome of these integrations will expand beyond the focus of the current article. But, the enhancements and integrations alone provide potential of increasing conversion rates of stores similar to Shinery.
